Vicente Amigo flamenco guitarist at a concert in 2001

Born in Guadalcanal (Seville) in 1967, but has lived in Cordoba since he was five.

He studied with Manolo Sanlúcar, then began playing at many venues in Spain with with the singer El Pele also from Cordoba, before going solo. He has won important flamenco guitar prizes, such as that of La Unión (1988), Extremadura (1988) and Cordoba (1989).

He now tours with his own instrumental group and has become popular with the younger generation of flamencos.

At a interview before a concert on 16th December 2001 at the Monasterio de San Miguel in Puerto Santa Maria (Cadiz) he said that flamenco as an art must grow and evolve....

"Soy un guitarrista flamenco, pero se que la escucha de otras musicas es buena como fuente de aprendizaje. Todos las artes estan en permanente evolucion y en ninguna de ellas conviene permanecer estatico porque es condenarse a quedar fuera."
