5th December 2000: His wife, Dolores Montoya "Chispa", received on his behalf posthumously the coveted Golden Key Award of Song. Camaron died in 1992 but his influence over flamenco continues unabated.

Su viuda, Dolores Montoya "Chispa", ha recibido la Llave de Oro del Cante que le correspondía y que se le ha concedido justamente, aunque no sin polémicas. Es oportuno considerar que el homenaje se ha quedado con un oropel político y pseudofolklórico, pero se ha echado en falta un programa de espectáculos atractivos. Al final ni siquiera el disco de "Antología inédita" se presentó en su tierra. La llave queda como símbolo.
